Galina Vladimirovna Kurlyandskaya ((ロシア語:Галина Владимировна Курляндская); born 1961) is a Russian physicist, known for her works on giant magnetoimpedance. == Biography == Galina Kurlyandskaya was born in Kirovgrad, Soviet Union, in 1961 in a Russian family. She received a University Degree from the Ural State University in 1983. From 1983 she worked as a researcher at the Institute of Metal Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 1990 at the Ural State University she defended her PhD thesis: "Thermomechanical treatment above the Curie point and its influence upon magnetic properties of Fe3Si alloy". In 2007 at the Ural State University she defended her Dr.of Sci. thesis (advanced degree in Physics of Magnetic Phenomena): "Giant magnetoimpedance and its connection with magnetic anisotropy and magnetization processes of ferromagnetic structures".
